In the upcoming 2025-2026 election, freshman Meliah Woolston is one of two candidates running for the position of Sophomore Vice President. Woolston is running against one other candidate: Gavin Boosalis in their race for vice presidency.
With hopes to win the election, Woolston created a campaign centered around her principal slogan: “Live More, Laugh More, Sopho-More” with a subsequential slogan being: “I want to make sophomore year EXTRA fun”, alluding to the gum brand “EXTRA” gum. Woolston plans to plaster these slogans campus wide on posters, flyers, and social media graphics.
To further delegate and get the word out for her campaign, Woolston plans on using word of mouth and talking with groups around school to reach the maximum voters’ attention.
If she wins the election, Woolston notes, “I hope to make the Class of 2028’s sophomore year fun and enjoyable for everyone!” She emphasizes her plan to work well with her president if she were to take office: “I would work very well with the president to come up with new events to keep everyone involved and included.”
Woolston hopes for a successful sophomore year no matter the election outcome, and is excited to experience all that comes with delegating, campaigning, and running for an office position, allowing her to grow as a leader and a current member of ASB.
