Tesoro ASB elections are coming up and junior Abby Shin is running for ASB Vice President against Emaan Ghaffarian and McCartney Minter.
Shin’s symbolic campaign is centered around “lights” as she emphasized the idea of brightness and unity as her core values. Abby believes that everyone should be represented and hopes to make ASB a place with strong leadership and opportunity. Her slogan, “It’s a bright idea to vote for Abby”, encapsulates this message as she plans to create an inclusive and spirited school environment. Her campaign will be displayed around the school through the use of posters with lights around the border to tie into her theme of illuminating change. She will also hand out wristbands and t-shirts around the school to promote her campaign and encourage students to vote.
Shin’s plans for the future are based on increasing engagement within the students. She hopes to encourage more students to be active in school spirit and make Tesoro more connected. Shin also plans to advocate for student needs to make sure their voices are heard and considered. Overall, she aims to ensure inclusivity and representation within the student body and create an environment where students feel seen and valued.
As election week approaches, students will have the opportunity to decide who they believe can best represent their interests and bring positive change to Tesoro. Regardless of the result, Shin’s campaign has introduced her perspective on inclusivity within the school and she will continue to help ASB shape school life at Tesoro.
